Real Estate/Tax Certiorari
Steven R. Hochberg is a member of the Firm's real estate department and is the partner in charge of the Firm's tax certiorari department. He has been with the Firm since 1987 and became a partner in 1993.
Mr. Hochberg has been involved in all aspects of real estate acquisitions, sales, financing and leasing for all types of commercial and residential real estate.
He founded and developed the firm's tax certiorari practice which represents owners, managing agents, receivers and mortgagees in their tax certiorari protests and other valuation claims throughout New York City.
Mr. Hochberg developed the firm's practice in the area of affordable housing development. He has been involved in projects throughout New York City and Nassau County. He serves as counsel to both developers and not-for profit corporations that have developed thousands of affordable housing units throughout New York City. He has experience working with various governmental agencies and with the various forms of public subsidies, tax credits, tax exemptions and municipal bonds available for low income and affordable housing development.
Mr. Hochberg serves as real estate counsel to the New York City Housing Partnership and is a Director and Treasurer of Residential Integrated Solutions Corporation, a not-for-profit corporation which overseas affordable housing development.
